Introduction he joined the korea national ballet in 2002.
after graduating from sunhwa arts school and from the dance department at hanyang university, he played the role of basil in don quixote at universal ballet (he belonged to this company from 1995 to 2001). before becoming a soloist, he had already shown remarkable performances. in particular, he showed excellent techniques when he was cast as the golden idol in la bayadè;re and also an excellent performance when he played the role of the captain in shim chong. such performances were recognized by the los angeles times, the virginia times and the new york times. after entering the company, he acted as colas in la fille mal gardé;e. during the company’s special gala in 2003, he was highly praised for his grand pas de deux in the wedding scene from don quixote. in the same year, he played the role of the clown in swan lake choreographed by the living ballet legend yury grigorovich, showing his comic and powerful dance.

  • 1994 special prize at the dance competition for rookies hosted by the dance association of korea (exempt from military service)
  • 1996 semifinalist at the rudolf nureyev international ballet competition
