comical wedding episode of a stubborn daughter and mother

french choreographer jean dauberval was taking a stroll in the countryside when he entered a toilet and got his inspiration for this classical ballet piece from an engraved drawing. <la fille mal gardee> is the oldest (premiere in 1789) existing full length ballet in which the main character is a commoner. it was staged in the panteon theater, london in 1791 by the choreographer under the name <la fille mal gardee>.
philip alonso’s version, which was premiered in korea in 2003 by the korea national ballet, superbly depicts the characters’ personalities with many humorous scenes, and is greatly loved by ballet beginners. lise, colas and simone are performed by male dancers, which will make the audience laugh, while the rich but not so clever alan will bring warmth to your hearts.
